Nile Gardiner, Ph.D. and Morgan Roach of the Heritage Foundation provide a great summary of the Barack Obama "Apologize for America" tour over the span of a month and within 5 months of his presidency. The quotes by Mr. Obama showing his disdain for America's successful past national security and foreign policy measures is astounding.
As compiled by Dr. Gardiner and Ms. Roach the following is the list of the 10 most significant apologies by the President of the United States in his first four months of office, as they relate to foreign policy and national security issues.
1. Apology to France and Europe ("America Has Shown Arrogance"). Speech by President Obama, Rhenus Sports Arena, Strasbourg, France, April 3, 2009.
2. Apology to the Muslim World ("We Have Not Been Perfect"). President Obama, interview with Al Arabiya, January 27, 2009.
3. Apology to the Summit of the Americas ("At Times We Sought to Dictate Our Terms"). President Obama, address to the Summit of the Americas opening ceremony, Hyatt Regency, Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, April 17, 2009.
Commentary: President Obama wasted no time in his new presidency to set the stage for presenting to world leaders his weak-kneed foreign policies, showing his disdain for America's security interests and embarrassing and insulting the U.S. that would collectively envy the likes of Castro, Chavez and Ahmadinejad. Mr. Obama has no compunction about embarrassing our country that has protected him, his family, provided him with every opportunity to succeed and doing so as the U.S commander in-chief and leader of the free world. But we can't embarrass him while speaking to Congress? Mr. Obama and his ilk should have as much concern for those who speak unkindly of the U.S. as they do of him.
