Tribute To The U.S. Coast Guard: Semper Paratus

When an average day includes saving 15 lives, assisting 114 people in distress, seizing $2.4 million worth of illegal drugs, conducting 122 security boardings and guiding 2,557 ships in and out of port - you'd better believe the U.S. Coast Guard is ready for anything. The U.S. Coast Guard is a military service whose usual theater of operation is the United States, but will go anywhere needed to defend our nation's freedoms at sea and on land.

The U.S. Coast Guard operates during times of peace and times of war. It's 5 primary missions are: national defense, maritime security, maritime safety, maritime mobility and the protection of natural resources. The U.S. Coast Guard's motto is Semper Paratus, Always Ready.

We salute the brave men and woman of the U.S. Coast Guard who protect and preserve our shores.

Thanks, that was educational. I was not aware of how much they do.
